FROM THE WORD
Elijah was a human being, even as we are.
James 5:17
ADDITIONAL
GOD IS GREATER THAN YOUR MISTAKESI don’t know about you, but for a long time I was afraid I could mess up God’s plans for me. The fear was real, and it somewhat paralyzed my decision-making process. But blessedly,
God did not leave me to live in fear. He reminded me of his awesomeness. So I am happy to tell you God is greater than your mistakes.
God’s will is not dependent on us. With the words of Lysa TerKeurst “God’spromises are not dependent on our ability to always choose well, but ratheron His ability to use well.” God can work around our mistakes.continued on next pagecontinued from previous page
This does not mean it doesn’t matter how we live, because it does. But we are not to live in fear that we’re going to mess up things. If we live prayerfully,we can boldly make decisions trusting in God’s guidance in the process. …The fact God is greater than your mistakes is liberating, don’t you think?Because we can’t mess up God’s promises; we can trust them. We can trust God to work everything, even the bad things in our lives, our mistakes, and the hurt others have caused us, for our good. God is not limited like we are limited. He is a real miracle worker, especially when things get tough. My love for God grows every day when I
immerse myself in his Word. His loving-kindness, his willingness to go the extra mile for all the lost, his patience with us who wander away as we look for the greener grass elsewhere – it all just enlarges my capacity for love for him and for all that he loves.I’m not afraid of making mistakes anymore. I try not to make them, of course. But I trust God’s grace will cover any of my mistakes or inadequacies as mother or wife or sister or daughter or employee or neighbor or friend just as it covers my sins.
God’s grace is greater than me or my capacity to sin. Hence there’s nothing you or I can do to separate us from God’s love or saving grace.We are indeed in good hands. When we believe in Jesus, we are on our way to heaven, no matter how imperfect we might feel. So God is greater than your mistakes, my friend. Deal with it. Let it sink in.You’re a precious child of God;
it’s time to let go of all your fears and thoughts of inadequacy. You’re more than enough just as you are. …You’re not meant to be a slave of fear; you’re God’s beloved child. So live like it. Joyfully, bursting with love, light, and color. Dare to live to the fullest. You’re loved, you’re covered with grace, power, and peace.Mari-Anna Stålnacke / flowing faith.com / edited for length
TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION
The invitation at the close of each worship service extends an opportunity for anyone outside of Christ to unite with him and become a Christian through belief (John 3:16); repentance (turning away from sin,
Acts 2:38); confession of belief in Christ (Romans 10:10); baptism into Christ for forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:1-8) and devoting the rest of your life to
Christ (Matthew 10:22).
The Lord’s invitation also is open to anyone desiring to rededicate his or her life to Christ; to baptized
believers wanting to transfer their membership to this congregation, or to request prayer support.
ABOUT US
For more than a half-century, we have been a restoration plea fellowship in unity with other independent New Testament church bodies. Certainly, we are not the only Christians, but we are Christians only.
In that regard, we assume no denominational name. We observe the Lord’s Supper every Sunday to honor him and reflect upon his great sacrifice on our behalf (Acts 2:42, 1 Corinthians 11:23-28, Hebrews 10:25).
We teach directly from the Bible. Where it speaks clearly – such as the Gospel plan of salvation and other directions or commands – we seek unity. In matters of opinion, where the Bible does not expressly speak, we seek liberty. In all things, however, we speak love for one another, just as Jesus loved us and laid down his life for us!
If you agree with these matters, please join us to proclaim salvation and unity to those who need to hear it in the name of our blessed Lord and only Savior, Jesus Christ. We urgently invite you to do so since his glorious return is imminent.
